BIFUR AS MICKEY

For this project, we had to appropriate a fictional character to a type font. the type font that was picked out for me was Bifur, Bifur was designed by Adolphe Mouron Cassandre, a Ukrainian-French painter, commercial poster artist and typeface designer. He later also created Peignot, another interesting and well-known typeface. Bifur was released in 1929 by Deberny & Peignot of Paris as a single font and a two-part, two-colour font.
I felt like this type face interacted with the fictional character Mickey Mouse. We had to use only letters for the design of this foldable book/poster. only One colour was authorised for the design and it had to depict the personality of the character it was portraying. I feel like this project worked really well and that the relationship between the type face and the character was brought out through the design of it.
